Yoshinkan Dojo Annual Seminar

Across the 17th and 18th May we held our Annual Japanese Martial Arts Seminar.

Unfortunately due to illness Shigeyoshi Sensei was unable to join us this year, but instead spoke to attendees via video call both days. We hope he recovers well and is able to join us next year!

Representatives from the following schools/styles of Japanese Martial Arts taught and practiced at the event:

Moto-Ha Yoshin Ryu Jujutsu

Aikido

Daito Ryu Aiki Jujutsu

Kishin Juku Aiki Jujutsu

Takeda Ryu Nakamura Ha Sobudo

Shotokan Karate

Shorinji Ryu Karate-Do

Go no Sen Ryu Ju Jitsu

It was very interesting to see similarities and differences in principals across the different styles.

We also held an Embu (Public Demonstration) with members from each of our classes from Juniors through to Adults, this also served as a Grading event and we had a number of promotions including 3 new Shodan and 1 new Nidan student. Congratulations all!
