Classes are taught by Guy Preston
7th Dan Kyoshi, Okuden no Maki,
Moto-Ha Yoshin Ryu Jujutsu
We have a small purpose fit traditional style Dojo, giving students an aesthetic suitable for their practice.

Our classes are small, not usually any more than 10 people (5 pairs) at any one time. This allows us to concentrate more closely on each students individual progress.

Koryu (Old Style) Martial Arts are more akin to family systems than the more common large scale training people are used to, with an instructor standing in front of 30 students or more..

Lessons are conducted in a fun, friendly, and relaxed manner, with all Dan Grade certification awarded from our Japanese Hombu Dojo.

Why do YOU want to learn Martial Arts?
Self Defense
Whether you're looking to feel safer yourself when out on your own, or you want your child to build the confidence to protect themselves from bullies...

Japanese Jujutsu is an effective Martial Art that emphasises the use of strategy as well as technique, designed to surprise a would-be attacker. This allows those of a smaller stature to gain the upper hand against larger and stronger assailants.

Don't take our word for it, please come and try a Free Class.

Family Activity - Bonding
Many of our Adult students enjoy having Jujutsu as a shared activity. Whether helping out with the young children's class, or training together in our parent and teen class you can't beat the feeling of sharing the experiences with your child.

We often see a higher level of progression from those children who's parent also practice and are able to offer further guidance away from the Dojo. Not to mention the most awesome photo opportunities ever!

Mental Health - Strength
If you work in a stressful environment, or in a high pressure role, there are many benefits to practicing a Traditional Martial Art.

Practice is a calm environment, beginning and ending with a short meditation. From start to end your mind is captivated by the lessons of the day and the focused efforts to learn and improve.

Many of our students benefit from this temporary respite from the pressures of the day, and the ability to apply lessons learned in their daily lives.
Authentic Lineage
Did you know that most 'Japanese' Jujutsu classes in the UK actually have no connection with Japan, and really shouldn't be considered as such?
We are an official branch of Moto-Ha Yoshin Ryu Jujutsu, a school of Jujutsu with an unbroken lineage dating back to the 1600's Edo Period Japan.

Our instructors have all ranked in Japan, maintain regular contact and training visits to the Head Dojo in Japan.
Self Improvement
Whether for yourself, or your child, if you would like to work on improved concentration and focus, increased discipline, higher levels of confidence, balanced outlooks in tough situations - Martial Arts (especially Japanese Martial Arts) are well known for having a positive affect in these areas.

We often see students come into the Dojo shy, nervous, and quiet. Then over time they become strong confident people - Performing public demonstrations and showcasing their acquired Martial Art skills.
